BEAT the M.E.A.P. - Rally and Curricula

This multisensory program is designed to engage students, staff,

parents, school buildings, and entire school districts and communities in

unified efforts to assist youth in the achievements of improved M.E.A.P.

test scores.

The M.E.A.P. Rally is presented to all third through eleventh grade

students. Third grade students are actively involved and introduced to

the process in anticipation of them preparing for the testing period

when they enter fourth grade. Third grade students will attend the

M.E.A.P. Rally with fourth and fifth grade students. K- 2nd grade

students are not involved, yet, they will hear about the event from

their teachers and older peers and excitedly wait until they become

third graders.

Upon attending M.E.A.P. Rally sessions, fourth and fifth grade students

will receive their M.E.A.P. pencil during assembly. Third grade students

will not receive pencils until their following M.E.A.P. test period.

The BEAT the M.E.A.P. pencils will pose as their one and only weapon

to use to BEAT the M.E.A.P. by improved test scores and be considered

their Rally cry! (Pencils will not be sharpened) Fourth and fifth grade

students are not allowed to take these pencils home until after the full

test period. Their M.E.A.P. pencils must remain in their desks and be

used only for the test.

Utilization of M.E.A.P. Rally Song during test period

Fourth and fifth grade students will hear the BEAT the M.E.A.P. song

three times a day during testing period.

1. Once in the morning before M.E.A.P. testing begins

2. Once during scheduled snack break, where students are allowed

bathroom, snack, and casually communicate with their peers, or in

which time they may share any questions or concerns with classroom

teacher.

3. Once at the end of the school day to reinforce the confidence and

effort of students and in preparation for the next test period.

Classroom incentives may be incorporated in the BEAT the M.E.A.P.

activity, i.e. Posters, buttons, cassette or CD of Rally song, balloons,

etc.
* Educators and facilitators guide for classroom available!

Because of the nature of the BEAT the M.E.A.P. Rallies, and the

intention to include entire school districts, third through eleventh

graders, the best facility for operation to serve more students at once

is most effective. The more schools served in your district, less the

cost to bring this and other programs to your school!
